Nicole Cone is a filmmaker based in Newark, NJ and NYC. She was born and raised in Miami, FL, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a scholarship from the Posse Foundation. She is currently a thesis student in the Graduate Film Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, Nicole has been the recipient of the WTC Johnson Scholarship, and the Creative Career Design Fellowship at the NYU Production Lab.
Nicole also works in digital media and podcasts as a freelance producer. In a previous life, Nicole created documentaries at VICE and social content at Cheddar. She began her career in media as an NBC Page in the NBCUniversal East Coast Page Program. Nicole is passionate about making films that center the perspective and humanity of young black women as they face everyday challenges, with a humorous and empathetic lens.
